The term "Smartphone" is frequently used by many people. Educated, uneducated and even illiterate people use this term casually without knowing a bit about the real meaning of it. It has many differences with a regular cell phone. A Smartphone is more than a regular cell phone.

On the other hand, a Smartphone is an advanced mobile phone that has numerous features and multiple functionalities. On it, you can run various apps to execute multiple tasks. With the aid of this phone, you can surf the Internet, send and receive e-mail, handle monetary transaction, edit office documents, capture attractive photos, and share them on various social media platforms. It uses state-of-the-art technologies, advanced software and cutting-edge apps to carry out complex tasks quickly and accurately with your least possible efforts.

If we look back to the history of the Smartphone, we will find that it came to the mobile market after the 1993s. The credit of its invention goes to Simon who invented it in 1992. He introduced it to the mobile market in the same year. At that time it was like a mobile or cell phone. It included some extra features in it. As the consequence of it, people welcomed it. They accepted it gaily. It inspired many mobile companies. They started manufacturing Smartphone.

The first Smartphone came to the market in 2000. Ericsson was the first company that sold Ericsson R380 in 2000 as the first Smartphone in the world. After that nobody came with a new one, until it was 2005. After long 5 years, Nokia launched its Nseries. It was a 3G Smartphone. It was like a multimedia computer.

Android appeared to the mobile market in 2008 with a cross-platform OS for their advanced mobile phone. This was the first Smartphone in the world that used various apps for doing many complex things in simpleer ways. Apple introduced its new App Store in July, 2000. This app store can deliver various approved applications developed by third-party developers. It brought a new revolution. As the consequence of it, many new companies came to the market. A user can easily buy various apps to use them on his or her iPhone or iPod. There are many apps available online for free. This apps store became very popular in March 2010. It facilitated more than 17000 applications in 2010.

After that, many advanced phones have been introduced to the market by BlackBerry and Samsung. Now these companies (BlackBerry and Samsung) are doing extremely well in the mobile market.
