Even though these completely different working of the companies may favor Dell, HP gains the upper hand in the other aspect.

Since Dell has a made to order working, there is usually a downtime of at least 7 days after which you will get your computer. In case you ordered a part in your Dell computer which is not easily available, then you probably ad a few more days. HP, on the other hand has computers available which can be have had almost instantly.

HP follows a standardization policy in the building of its computers. This means that a hard disk in a particular model of HP would remain of the same make in all the computers of the same model. However, in the case of Dell, you may find a hard disk of different companies used in computers of the same model.

HP technical support and Dell technical support also differ quite a bit. You will get a warranty of an entire year on all Dell products.
